Common Issues

Windows showed a “Windows protected your PC” warning when I ran the installer +
This is a standard Windows SmartScreen warning for software without a paid publisher certificate — the software is completely safe. Right-click the setup file, select Properties, check the “Unblock” box near the bottom, click OK, then run the installer again.
My disc isn’t being recognized by my computer +
Make sure the disc is inserted label-side up and the tray is fully closed. Open “This PC,” find your CD/DVD drive, and double-click to open it. Look for “Read Me First” to get started. If the drive doesn’t appear at all, try removing and reinserting the disc.
The installation seems frozen or stuck +
This is often normal — the installer may be working in the background even when the screen looks frozen. Leave it running for several minutes without closing the window or restarting your computer. Most installs complete within 3-5 minutes.
I installed OpenOffice but my Microsoft Office still shows as unactivated +
OpenOffice is a completely separate office program, not an activation tool for Microsoft Office. It’s already installed and ready to use — find it in your Start menu under “Apache OpenOffice.” It opens and saves Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files without any issues.
Does this software require a product key? +
